HERA Humanitarian Leadership Accelerator
Developing emerging humanitarian leaders.
HERA is an immersive accelerator for Students and Young Professionals under 35 who want to develop their humanitarian capability, leadership and ability to contribute to humanitarian action.
Humanitarian challenges need the next generation of leaders.
The humanitarian sector is navigating increasingly complex crises, growing needs and pressure on the systems and resources available to respond.
HERA creates a pathway for emerging leaders to build the knowledge, practical capability, leadership experience and networks they need to contribute meaningfully to humanitarian aid and assistance.
You don't need to already work in the humanitarian sector. HERA brings together Participants from different educational, professional and sector backgrounds around a shared humanitarian purpose.
The opportunity
The HERA Journey
Learn
Build your foundations in humanitarian practice, leadership and deployment through an intensive, applied learning programme.
Experience
Put those capabilities to work through an immersive humanitarian simulation where decisions have consequences and conditions change.
Deliver
Work as a team on a real humanitarian Mission with a Mission Partner, applying your collective capabilities to genuine humanitarian needs.
Connect
Join a continuing community of emerging humanitarian leaders, practitioners, mentors and partners.
More than training
HERA is designed as an accelerator, not simply a training course.
Participants learn from humanitarian practitioners and experienced leaders, work alongside people from different backgrounds, test themselves through simulation and apply what they have learned through a real humanitarian Mission.
Throughout the journey, Programme Mentors guide and challenge Participants as emerging leaders, helping them reflect on their experiences and development.
